James Gillespie's High School Transition Day

What a glorious day in the sunshine at Meadowbank on Monday 16th June for a full day of activities organised brilliantly by Jonathan Wallace and Lesley Ann Chessor, our Active Schools Co-ordinators. Hazel Kinnear, DHT JGHS welcomed everyone and there was lots of support from Active Schools coaches as well as S4 and S6 helpers. It was great to see so many former pupils, assisting the soon to be S1! Great excitement and wonderful to see our pupils relaxed, smiling and happy, ready for their three day visit to JGHS Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Our thanks to Leanne McQuade, Guidance Tutor at JGHS, for her tremendous efforts in organising the new classes.
Hazel Kinnear, Depute Head Teacher, James Gillespie's High School and Jonathan Wallace, Active Sports Co-ordinator,  open the proceedings

Former pupils Evan and Jamie help out

Ms French and Mrs Barker. Mr Howie was back at the ranch with our remaining 20 pupils who are headed off to other high schools.
Thumbs up from Mrs Tariq
Mr Wallace and Mrs Chessor in command and control position. Mrs Walker was also at the stadium, lending her support
Scott Noble led the badminton sessions

Alex Harkins led the tennis sessions

JGHS use Meadowbank for PE lessons and we bumped into some familiar faces. Can it really only be a year since these lovely S1s - soon to be S2s - were at Transition Day themselves? Great to see them all looking so well!
