Election Day

Last week Primary 7 held an election after working on a task which asked them to form parties and campaign. The task involved a fictitious youth council which was being formed in Edinburgh to address a number of issues.  The council was to be given a budget of £150 million pounds to address the issues identified and parties were invited to campaign for seats on the council. The class formed 7 different parties and had worked over a few sessions to come up with party names, campaign materials, policies and speeches for Election Day.  Ms Gaffneys' class formed the electorate and after hearing the speeches they were each given a ballot paper and were asked to vote for the party which they felt had the best suggestions for addressing the issues the council was set up to address.
