Meanwhile, up in the hills...

With much of P6 away at camp, the non-campers made the most of a spectacular day of Edinburgh sunshine to explore the Braid Hills. The children set a brisk pace, which helped keep Mrs Nowell and Mr Kearton warm across the windy hilltops.

We enjoyed a superb clear view across the City, out to East Lothian and to Fife, recalled some of our P5 learning on local geology and had a wee go at bouldering.

A very enjoyable day all round P6, well done.

Can you see Sciennes?!

Going up!

In the footsteps of Tam O'Shanter

P6 have shown their enthusiasm, both at home and school, to the poems of Robert Burns over recent weeks. In the first weeks of January, P6 explored different aspects of Burns' life, and were fascinated by his tale of witchery and flight - Tam O'Shanter.

P6B were inspired to map out Tam's (and Meg's) fraught midnight journey from Ayr back home to his wife Kate. Here are just a few of the their creations.
